Just after 2 p.m. Emergycare and Erie Fire were called to E 12th & Franklin for a vehicle accident. The accident was reported with entrapment. A 24' box truck ran off the road and hit a large metal pole that holds up the traffic signals. Reports are the truck had no brakes. Erie Fire Rescue 8 & 6 responded to the scene with Engine 13 for manpower to extricate the driver. The passenger was extricated quickly and taken to Hamot Shock Trauma, as well as the driver once he was extricated. The accident is under investigation by the Erie Police Department.
