I see that the old flagpole still stands. Have our troops hoist the colors to its peak, and let no enemy ever haul them down.

~General Douglas MacArthur.

07/07/10 – On Wednesday night before the monthly business meeting,  Kuhl Hose was presented a new American flag by Boy Scout Troop 133. Members of the troop performed a flag changing ceremony in front of Station #68 as all department members in attendance looked on. The old colors were lowered and replaced with the new ones donated by the scouts in recognition of the service the department has given to the troop.

In the past two years, Kuhl Hose has worked with the troop and it’s affiliated Cub Scout Pack on numerous occasions to teach fire prevention, emergency readiness skills and even hosting a first aid skills competition.

The flag, which flew over Station 68 for the past several years, will be retained by the troop and officially retired by the Boy Scouts in at the Kuhl Hose open house in September. At that time, the flag will be burned during a solemn ceremony in accordance with the US Flag Code.

Kuhl Hose would like to thank Boy Scout Troop 133, chartered by St. Boniface Church for their donation and we hope to continue mentoring the first aid and emergency preparedness of scouts for years to come.
