02/08/11 - Kuhl Hose was dispatched to assist Brookside and Harborcreek at a multiple vehicle accident on I-90 east of Mile Marker 32.  On arrival 680 assumed command and reported multiple vehicles, both auto's and tractor trailers involved.  Squad 247 arrived and assisted by a firefighter from Mercer County began triage.  687 assisted with triage and securing vehicles. 

Enroute Squad 257 was involved in an accident sending 3 firefighter/EMT's to Hamot for evaluation of minor injuries.  Engine 683 and Rescue 248 assessed and treated the firefighters at the accident involving squad 257 until Harborcreek 227 arrived to transport.

683 then responded to the original accident scene and assisted in containing a diesel fuel leak.  Rescue 248 responded with squad 697 to I-90 west of Exit 32 for a third accident involving several tractor trailers.

There were 3 patients transported and a refusals.  The west bound lane of I-90 remained closed for sevearl hours.

The Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the accident.
