03/08 - The Pennsylvania State Police discovered a working fire in an abandoned portion of a the East Way Plaza early tuesday morning. PSP had been sent for an alarm at the complex prior to finding a fire. Kuhl Hose was sent for RIT to assist Brookside along with Lawrence Park, Wesleyville, Belle Valley, Fairfield, & Harborcreek. Crews arrived found heavy smoke coming from the structure. Lawrence Park ladder 289 stretched a hand line and quickly contained the fire. Crews were on the scene for about an hour checking for extension and ventilation. The fire is under investigation.
