LEE’S SUMMIT, MO - Just after
lunchtime, Lee's Summit Fire Department Pumper Co. 1 was dispatched to a
vehicle fire on the 200 block of SE Bordner. On arrival they found a well
involved engine compartment and cab fire, in an older Ford Ranger parked in
a driveway. There was no exposure damage.
Weather conditions were clear but very blustery, with sustained 20+ mph
winds out of the north and gusts in the 35-40 mph range. Pumper 1 arrived
and deployed a single 1.75" compressed air foam (CAFS) line, containing the
fire in about a minute. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the
Lee's Summit Fire Department.
