Edinboro was dispatched to a structure fire on Pageville Road. First arriving units reported a working fire. They found heavy fire and smoke coming from the rear roof of the structure. Initially Crews started an interior attack and were forced to move to a defensive mode when the stairs to the second floor burned through. Eight people, including three residents displaced due to Hurricane Katrina were residing in the house at the time of the fire. Edinboro was assisted by Cranesville, Franklin Township, Hayfield, Cambridge Springs and Kearsarge Fire Departments. The Erie Chapter of the American Red Cross assisted with housing for the residents. The fire is under investigation by the Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal.
